With help from the RBC Foundation and the University of Windsor EPICentre, we have finally launched The Data Company and are ready to help businesses unlock the potential of their data.
So What is The Data Company?
The Data Company is a data analytics services business specialized in helping small and medium-sized organizations use their data to make decisions. We use the latest tools in data handling, business intelligence, and predictive analytics to provide business owners and managers with the practical trends and insights that lie hidden in a company's various data resources.
Who are we?
The Data Company was co-founded by us, two University of Windsor MBA Graduates that have a passion for both leveraging the power of data analytics and helping businesses grow. About a year ago, while we were both working with companies in consulting roles, internships, and just attending job interviews, we noticed that there was a huge number of small and medium-sized businesses and non-profit organizations that were collecting or had access to a significant amount of data.
What kind of data? Everything from customer data to manufacturing and logistics data, and everything in between. Any company that had a CRM system, an ERP system, a website, or any other of the unique planning and tracking systems out there, was collecting large amounts of data.
What we were surprised to find was that many of these companies were not using their data to its full potential, if at all. While most companies were optimizing how they used their internal systems and were doing a great job of collecting data, they didn't know where to go from there.
Why The Data Company?
After seeing this problem time and time again, we decided to investigate, asking the question "why aren't companies taking advantage of this powerful resource that they have right in front of them?"
What we realized was that most small and medium sized businesses didn't have the resources to justify hiring a full time data scientist, let alone a team of them. Even in cases where companies did have the resources to do so, they didn't know what skills to look for in a data scientist, what tools to give them, or even what questions to ask of them.
That's where The Data Company comes in. We give businesses a solution to this pervasive problem. Our team has the necessary skills and knowledge to put data to work using the latest innovations in business intelligence, predictive analytics, and machine learning. Not only that, but we also have the business acumen and understanding to translate complex findings into practical and actionable business insights.
Thats right, we make data simple. We help companies, no matter how tech savvy they are, make better decisions using the trends, patterns, and insights that are hidden inside their data. Starting with the earliest steps in the data analysis process, data aggregation and cleaning, doing everything up to using powerful predictive modelling techniques, we make it simple and easy for companies to make insight-driven decisions using their data.
